PEACE DAY

On the 30th of January all the school went outside to the playground to sing the song we´ve been practising during two weeks: ONE DAY by Matisyahu.

Year six create a mural with the lyrics from the song. Here is a video with the song and the pictures the children made.

PEACE DAY

On the 30th of January we celebrate Peace Day at our school. All of the children were involved in learning Louis Armstrong´s What a wonderful world, a song wich describes the beauty of the world.
Everyone went outside to the playground to make a big circle and sang the song, the white doves were releaded into the sky. During the lead up to Peace Day, the children created Peace messages and pictures and the first cycle a collage of peace hands of diferent colours, each with their own message.

PEACE DAY

With PEACE DAY coming, we started to think about LOVE, FRIENDSHIP, TOLERANCE and EQUALITY around the world.
In ARTS AND CRAFTS we made a mural of paper doves with our hands and wrote our own messages inside.

On the Friday, everyone gathered on the playground to celebrate together.

Each year read a peace message and we let off two white doves.

The "Grand Finale" came when the whole school sang WE ARE THE WORLD by Michael Jackson- a song about giving the others which we had learnt in Arts and Crafts and in the English class.

PEACE POEM

Peace is sharing.Peace is caring.Peace is harmony.Peace is love.
The symbol is a dove.

Peace is our freedom.
Peace is our friendship.
That’s what peace means to me.

WORLD PEACE DAY

JANUARY 2010

"IMAGINE...

...if in our daily life we can smile,
if we can be peaceful and happy,
not only we,
but everyone will profit by it.
This is the most kind of peace work".
