JOHN LENNON


On December the 8th we commemorate the death of John Lennon. 
John Lennon was an English musician who was one of the founder members of THE BEATLES  and their singer, songwriter and guitarist.
He was born in Liverpool on October 9th, 1940. 
His first band was called "Quarrymen". Then, he became a member of the Beatles and when the group  disbanded in 1970, he started his solo career. 

As for his family life, he married Cynthia Powell in 1962. They had a son together, Julian. Later, in 1968, they got divorced and he remarried the following year to Japanese artist, Yoko Ono. They had a song named Sean.



John Lennon was murdered in New York City on 8th December 1980 when was coming back from the recording studio with Joko Ono. They had been recording "Walking on Thin Ice". When John Lennon was about to enter his  apartment building in the Dakota, in New York City, a man called Mark David Chapman called out his name and shot him five times in his back.

Lennon died on the way to Roosevelt hospital. His body was cremated and his ashes were given to his wife. Mark David Chapman was arrested by the police.
